
NOT indicative Blue-Green Algal-Bloom - Eagle Lake
UPDATE Jun 16, 2025:
The North Bay District of the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) has analyzed the sample collected on June 6, 2025, for the blue green algal bloom reported in Eagle Lake, Machar Township.
Based on the microscopic analysis of the amount of algal material present in the sample submitted to the ministry’s lab, the sample is NOT indicative of a blue green algal bloom.
The laboratory report was received on June 13, 2025, indicating Total Microcystin concentration of <0.10 μg/L and Anatoxin-A concentration of <0.20 μg/L. Both Total Microcystin and Anatoxin-A values were below the ministry’s method of detection limits.

The North Bay District of the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) received notification regarding possible blue-green algal bloom in Eagle Lake, Machar Township
The MECP North Bay District regional office submitted samples for laboratory analysis and will update once further information is obtained.
